Treatment
You can expect your CAC allergist to conduct a medical history, including an assessment of your symptoms and a relevant physical exam to look for polyps or changes in the anatomy of the nose. In some cases, a CT scan could be ordered. You might also have a skin test conducted to determine which triggers are causing nasal swelling. Once the triggers causing your chronic symptoms are identified, treatment will be recommended.
The most common treatments include:
- Saline irrigation
- Nasal steroid sprays
- Antihistamines/decongestants
- Antibiotics
